State your Necklace.

My newest clay creation!
I wish I had some Minnesota dirt to put in the tiny jar!

Now I just need to find all the other 49 state cookie cutters…

Down, Down, Baby!

Husband decided he wanted a down pullover jacket for camping.
He went and bought some nylon fabric.
We appointed an old down comforter of ours to participate.
Then…
We attempted to make it.

Handmade Baby Changing System!

I had a few baby showers to attend last month
And so I decided to make something super useful for the lovely mamas-to-be!

They fit nicely in a diaper bag or even most regular sized purses.
What luck!

This next one was for my friend with a Peter Rabbit theme.
I couldn’t resist using my felt scraps to match it right in with her nursery!

Official Feather Weather.

This past weekend my mom and I went up to Minnesota
And hung out with the girls on her side of the family at their cabin.
It was nice and cool there
And now that we’re back, it’s nice and cool here too!
Today I wore a sweatshirt.
And I bought some rusty-red coloured soft jeans
And also wore my Minnetonka mocs.
Therefore.
It’s officially feather weather!
I don’t know why, but feathers and fallish weather seem to go hand in hand.

I made these earrings last week.
I’ll be making more like this to sell on my Etsy
But I like keeping some of my stuff to wear. 🙂

Time to go outside and sidewalk chalk with the wee one.

Dingleballs. Sequins. Padiddle.

It has been quite some time since a post!
Want to know why?
Well, I discovered I had access to Downton Abbey season 2.
So I watched all of them in one week with my spare evening time.
What else happened?
A bunch of things and it’s been busy.
But I miss drawing.
“Mulder and Scully” are next.

So today I made a lantern.
It’s a lantern with no light in it, at least not right now.
But it could in the future.
Which is kind of like a headlight with no bulb.
Which is a padiddle.
And my car is definitely in that category right now,
I realized,
As I sat in the bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to cross the bridge after dinner in Iowa
And jamming out to the crappy tunes on the radio with the 2-year-old-past-his-bedtime
WHO, for being in that state, was actually in a great mood and didn’t cry at all as we sat and sat and sat.
All that to say,
I noticed my headlight was out.
Oh well!

Sprouts

Like most people who aren’t vampires or allergic to the sun,
I am not a huge fan of cold rainy days.
So the past week has been rather annoying.
HOWEVER.
The few things I planted have actually begun to sprout!
I took pictures to prove it.
I am notorious for ruining the life of any plant that I so much as glance at,
So this is a big deal for me.

Here begins our tour.
This is swiss chard.
I’m not sure what I’ll do with it once it matures,
But we had seeds and I stuck them in the ground.
My mom juices it. I’ll give her some.

Next we have here cute little spinach.
I actually like spinach a lot and will eat it if it actually grows up.

And these are radish sproutlings.
They need to be thinned out
It looks like they will be easy to grow at this point
But who knows with me…

These are my big herbs that I bought that way.
They inspired me to build the herb garden
And plant some new vegetables this year just to see what happens.
They were like,
“HEY what have you got to lose?”
And I said “$5.oo”
And they looked at me and said nothing.
I hung my head in shame.
It’s almost $5 for a tiny package of basil leaves at the grocery store
And here I wasn’t even willing to shell out the same for an ENTIRE PLANT?
Parsley and basil.
Basil got munched on by some dumb bugs or something
But hopefully will recover.
Otherwise I’m going back to Lowe’s for a replacement.

Ahh last but not least.
Here is a picture of the pallet-herb-garden.
So far so good.

And that is that.
Now the sun can come out.

AHOY

I made these anchor earrings yesterday out of clay.
Husband made fun of me because they are so long
BUT
I wore them anyway.
Chain can always be shortened.
Next pair I make will probably not be QUITE as long as these.
I still like them though!

And here is my glamour shot.

HAHA

Well, I DID just cut my hair a few days ago… again.
NOW I’m going to start growing it back out… probably…
