I watched the lightest feather in the world float to the ground.

It took probably a whole minute.

Then I watched a rabbit sit still for about 10 minutes,

And wondered to myself if she was sleeping with her eyes open like a guinea pig might do.

And I never even googled it.

Then I tuned back in to my life and cleaned up my kitchen.

Sometimes you just have to check out for a minute.

Pinterest win!

If you’re getting depressed because you keep screwing up your beautiful Pinterest ideas once you try them yourself, here’s one that won’t leave you sobbing & rocking in the corner!

A triceratops cake!

She gives great step-by-step fail proof instructions. I wound up making my vegan cake and frosting from scratch, but I’m sure whichever recipe you use will work with the decorating.

Head over here to make yours!

Of the Cloth

Although I sort of may have once or twice said that I would never wind up doing this,
( I take it back, before W was born, I had thought I would…
But after experiencing the world of newborn-poo for myself,
I never thought about it seriously again )
I stumbled upon the deal of all deals through a local co-op group
And thought to myself,
“Hmmm! Instead of grimacing and grabbing that $40 box of disposable di-dees
That only lasts approximately one month on my little non-potty-chair-interested 2.5 year old,
I could buy enough CLOTH diapers to last a few days,
For the price of two boxes of disposables,
And save a butt-load of money!”

I decided to take the plunge,
Partially because of saving money
(Ok mostly because of that)
And partially because…umm I will admit… these diapers are super cute.
And I’m a sucker for cute.

So here are my observations:

>>I am staying caught up on laundry, because I know I have to wash these diapers. *SCORE!*

>>They are soft and the baby-child likes them.

>>They photograph well.

>>They aren’t THAT hard to manage.

>>The loose poop factor is kind of gross, but it DOES come off and they don’t smell.

>>The laundry detergent I bought to wash them with comes in a super-cute tin!

>>They usually do not last all night on him, but now using 1 disposable per day isn’t going to break the bank.

I’m still new at this, so we’ll see how I handle a poop-splotion in public.
It’s sort of my greatest fear right now.

If you have any advice to offer me (besides sun bleaching, which I plan to do this summer when it’s possible)
Leave it!

Handmade Baby Changing System!

I had a few baby showers to attend last month
And so I decided to make something super useful for the lovely mamas-to-be!

They fit nicely in a diaper bag or even most regular sized purses.
What luck!

This next one was for my friend with a Peter Rabbit theme.
I couldn’t resist using my felt scraps to match it right in with her nursery!

A song and haircut.

Today I:

Cut my hair
Recorded a song
And some other stuff.

If you should chance
To think of me
I hope you’d like you’d like you’d like
What you would see

It seems that when
You pass my way
I lose the words the words the words
I want to say

So let’s meet up
Just in our minds
And make believe believe believe
That we’re both fine

‘Cos I need you
You need me too
I’ll be patient and wait and wait and wait
And wait for you

When you get back
We’ll make our plans
And take the world the world the world
In the palms of our hands

Cotton Squares.

A lesson I learned:
Never buy the cotton squares from the dollar store.
They are worthless.
As in, they are worth even LESS than a dollar.
Less than nothing,
Because they roll up and tear in half easier than water.
Don’t buy them.

the notebook

I NEED to carry a little notebook with me everywhere I go.

Also need to draw. Like every day.

I also need to not rest my palm on the mousepad thingie.
This ‘new’ computer is much more sensitive than my last
And I hate it when it makes me start typing elsewhere because I bumped it unknowingly!
